Crispy Coriander Bites

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cilantro (rinsed dried and chopped finely tightly packed)
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2 tablespoons rice flour
  • 18 teaspoon turmeric
  • 34 cups besan
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 34 cups water
  • 14 teaspoon soda bicard (baking soda)
  • 12 teaspoon ginger (grated)
Coating:
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 tablespoon vegan butter (oil)
  • 5 curry leaves (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients except the soda bicarb to a bowl
  2. Add 2 cups of water to insta pot or to a stove steamer, heat the water (sauté mode for insta pot)
  3. Grease your plate/ tin that you'll cook the bites in
  4. The plate should be placed above the water not touching it
  5. Add the bicarb just before you put it into the steamer
  6. Pour batter into the plate and place into the steamer/insta pot
  7. Steam for approximately 15 minutes (Steam mode on instapot)
  8. The top may feel a little sticky or soft when you first open the steamer but once it cools down it sets super soft spongey and yummy!
  9. Let it sit for about 5 minutes
  10. Cut into small pieces
  11. Heat oil, add mustard seeds (let them pop) add curry leaves and sesame seeds
  12. Add the little bites and sauté for a couple of minutes till crispy
  13. Served best with coriander & walnut chutney
