Chai Spiced Almond Oatmeal

Prep: 0 minTotal: 20 minServings: 2 servings
This is a cozy bowl of oats for the mornings when you want breakfast to feel warm, soft, and a little bit special. The chai spice blend, usually a mix of cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and cloves - does more than just smell amazing; it's warming, gently stimulates digestion, and gives you a natural lift to start the day without needing extra caffeine. Dates melt in with natural sweetness, and a generous swirl of almond butter on top gives it that creamy, satisfying finish that'll keep you full all morning.

ingredients

Toppings

instructions

  1. Add the oats, chai spice, cardamom, almond butter, chopped Medjool dates, and water to a small pan.
  2. Place over medium heat and stir as the oats begin to warm and thicken.
  3. Once the mixture starts to thicken, add 1 cup of the plant-based milk.
  4. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring often, until the oats become creamy and the dates start to soften into the mixture.
  5. Add the remaining 1 cup plant-based milk and continue cooking for another 5–10 minutes, stirring regularly, until the oatmeal is thick, soft, and creamy.
  6. If the oats become too thick, add a splash more milk until they reach the texture you like.
  7. Pour into bowls.
  8. Top with almond butter, roasted pumpkin seeds, shaved almonds, dried rose petals, and a drizzle of date syrup.
  9. Say a little prayer, do a little dance, sprinkle with love, and serve with happiness.

notes

  • Quick-cook oats make this extra soft and creamy, but rolled oats can work if cooked a little longer.
  • Chop the dates small so they soften into the oatmeal and sweeten it evenly.
  • Use oat milk or soy milk for a creamier bowl, or almond milk for a lighter texture.
  • For a nut-free version, use oat milk or soy milk, swap almond butter for sunflower seed butter, and skip the shaved almonds.
  • For extra protein, add hemp seeds, vegan protein powder, soy milk, or a spoonful of vegan yogurt on top.
  • This oatmeal is best served warm, but leftovers can be stored in the fridge for 1 day and reheated with a splash of milk.
  • Dietary note — Vegan: ✅ if using plant-based milk
  • Dietary note — Gluten-Free: ✅ if using certified gluten-free oats
